To the Editor:
On behalf of Grant School District 3, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our community for the incredible support shown during the recent 2024 District Little League All-Star Tournament hosted at our Seventh Street Sports Complex.
This event was a resounding success, not only in showcasing the athleticism and sportsmanship of our youth but also in highlighting the collaborative spirit and generosity that define John Day and Grant County. The influx of thousands of visitors provided a significant boost to our local businesses, restaurants, and lodging establishments, demonstrating the positive economic impact such events can have on our community.
The success of the tournament was a direct result of the dedication and hard work of countless individuals and organizations. I would like to extend a special thanks to our Grant County Little League board, city officials, school district staff, parent volunteers, and local businesses who came together to ensure the tournament was a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
The tournament served as a reminder of the importance of investing in our youth and providing opportunities for them to excel both on and off the field. By working together to support these endeavors, we are not only fostering a love of sports but also instilling valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience.
The 2024 District Little League All-Star Tournament was a shining example of what we can achieve when we come together as a community. I am incredibly proud of the way our residents rallied around this event. I hope we can continue coming together to host future events like this and I am confident that this spirit of collaboration will continue to drive our community forward for years to come.
