Mosier’s Home Furnishings, located at 101 East Main Street in John Day, Oregon, has been a family-owned and operated business, serving John Day and the surrounding region since 1955. Dale Mosier has been running the business since 1976.

The business first started out as The Kitchen Center. Dale’s father, Doc Mosier was working for John Day Hardware. They started selling appliances and the business got bigger, so they broke it out as a separate business. Dale’s father was partners with Art Thunell, Sr. and they worked together for 20 years. Art sold out to them and that is when they moved over to the present location.

The building Mosier’s Home Furnishings occupies now was built in 1902 and was a furniture and dry goods store. There were two store fronts and Eastern Oregon University and several Chinese dentists occupied the top story in the past.

Their mission is simple: to provide quality home furnishings, appliances, and wood stoves to local residents. Over the years, they’ve built a reputation for reliability, excellent customer service, and a commitment to enhancing homes across the region. They take pride in being the hometown choice for all things related to making a house a home, doing delivery after the sale.

From cozy sofas to elegant dining sets, Mosier’s Home Furnishings offers a wide range of furniture options for every home. They have a selection that caters to various tastes and styles, from elegant Simply Amish to Ashley furniture to a camo-fabricated recliner. Also on offer are wall accessories, window coverings including window shades and blinds, and appliances from Maytag, GE, Speed Queen, and Whirlpool. Mosier’s Home Furnishings is the oldest Blaze King dealer in the state, keeping the residents of Grant County and the surrounding area warm and toasty since the mid-1970s.

While continuing to focus on customer satisfaction and maintaining Mosier’s Home Furnishings’ reputation as a trusted local business, Dale’s over-arching goal is to find a buyer who would be capable of carrying on the family’s legacy so he can retire. Dale has been at Mosier’s Home Furnishings for 48 years and does not want to “leave a hole in the middle of the town.”

Whether you are furnishing your first residence or upgrading your forever home, Mosier’s Home Furnishings will help you create a comfortable and beautiful living space. You can visit their Facebook page for updates, drop by for a visit, or give them a call at 541-575-0649 with any questions.
