WILLIAM H. “BILL” HUDSON

William H. “Bill” Hudson was born July 5, 1919, in Hoquiam, Washington, to William and Hazel Hudson. He married Cleo Lavelle Guyll in Camas, Washington, on February 12, 1942.
Bill was stationed in San Antonio, Texas, while serving in the Army during World War II. Following the war Bill moved to John Day with his wife, Mother, Step father Loren Booth, Sister and her family where they purchased the Joaquin Miller Resort (now the J Bar L) managing the resort from 1946 until 1951. Bill also worked for Edward Hines Lumber Company and then the U.S. Forest Service until he retired.
Bill enjoyed his family, golf, hunting and drinking coffee with his friends. He was an avid supporter of all Grant Union sports, his favorite being baseball. He was a devoted Father, Grandfather and Friend.
His wife Cleo, father William Hudson, mother Hazel Booth and step father Loren Booth preceded Bill in death.
Bill is survived by his sister Margaret Frost of Grapeview, Washington, and two sons Doug Hudson and wife Judy of John Day, and Paul Hudson and wife Patti of Portland. Grandchildren Stacie Holmstrom and husband Marty, Stuart Hudson and wife Karla, Travis Hudson and wife Barbara, Tyler Hudson and wife Crystal, Tracy Hudson and wife Lisa, Stephanie and Alyssa Hudson, along with 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
Bill will be laid to rest at the Canyon City Cemetery Saturday, October 11, at 2 p.m. Driskill Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
