Reba Alberta Berry Oct. 5, 1954 — March 15, 2016

Reba A. Berry, 61, of Mt. Vernon, died March 15 at Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day. A graveside service was held March 19 at Moon Creek Cemetery. Pastor David Drury officiated.

Berry was born Oct. 5, 1954, in John Day to Arther and Edna (Hammons) Dickens. She attended Mt. Vernon High School.

On June 12, 1970, she married Steven Wayne Berry in Mt. Vernon. She was a childcare provider, cook, assisted in transporting patients and worked with exchange students, in addition to raising their two sons.

She enjoyed crafting, camping, raising animals and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include her husband, Steven Berry of Mt. Vernon; sons, Todd Berry of John Day and Richie Berry of Prineville; granddaughters, Jessica Williams of Prairie City, Henley Berry of Prineville and Amanda Berry of Portland; brothers, Elmer (Jan) Dickens of Mt. Vernon, Wayne (Marilyn Raymond) Dickens of Mt. Vernon and Ted Dickens of Mt. Vernon; sisters, Carolyn (Jim) Lenz of Boise, Idaho, Barbara (Larry) Palmer of Mt. Vernon and Linda (Lyle) McCumber of Mt. Vernon; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arther and Edna Dickens; sister, Helen Marie; and grandson, Boone Berry.
