Evacuation levels eased for parts of Grant County

CANYON CITY — Evacuation level advisories around several major fires in Grant County have been reduced.

Battle Mountain Complex, Courtrock and Falls Fire evacuation zones continue to be downgraded while firefighters increase containment lines, the Grant County Emergency Management Office announced on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
The reduced evacuation zones are a s follows:
Battle Mountain Complex
All areas outside of current fire lines west of the Battle Mountain Complex in Grant County, North of Highway 402 to the Wheeler County line in the west and the Morrow County line in the north are now in a Level 1 “Be Ready” status.
All areas of the Battle Mountain Complex previously in Level 3 but outside the current fire lines are now at a Level 2, “Be Set” status.
All Level 2 areas outside current fire lines of the Battle Mountain Complex, north of Highway 402 and east of Highway 395, north to the Umatilla County line that were Level 2 are now in a Level 1, “Be Ready” status
Courtrock Fire
All areas west of the Courtrock Fire to the Wheeler County line are now in a Level 1 “Be Ready” status.
The area southeast of the Courtrock Fire between Fox Valley Lane and Justice Ranch West Road is now in a Level 1 “Be Ready” status.
Falls Fire
The zone south of Swamp Creek Lane and the Burns-Izee Road and north of the Harney County line has been downgraded to a Level 2, “Be Set” status.
The zone north of the Harney County line, east of Antelope Creek and south of Logan Valley Lane has been downgraded to a Level 1.
