The classes take place at 6 p.m. July 17, July 18, July 19, July 23, July 25 and July 26. Classes are 2-2.5 hours each.
A field day will be held at 9 a.m. July 28 at the Prairie City law enforcement shooting range on Halls Hill between John Day and Prairie City.
No one under the age of 18 may hunt wildlife, except on their own land, without successfully completing this course. All ages planning to hunt as nonresidents in other states may be required to have a hunter education card.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has established a $10 class fee per student. This fee may be waived in some circumstances. Pre-enrollment is available at Ace Hardware, True Value Hardware, the local ODFW office or other ODFW license sales outlets.
To register online, visit dfw.state.or.us/education/hunter and click on “View/Register for a Hunter Education Course.” Under “Get Started,” click on the drop down menu for “Hunter/Angler ID#” and register as a new customer.
