More evacuation advisories reduced or removed in Grant County

CANYON CITY — Evacuation levels continue to be reduced around wildfire zones in Grant County.

Evacuation advisories in Grant County around the Battle Mountain Complex have been reduced or removed and another near the Falls Fire has been downgraded, the Grant County Emergency Management Office announced on Wednesday, Aug. 14.

All evacuation zones in or around the Battle Mountain Complex in Grant County have been downgraded one level or removed, officials said.

Only a Level 1 “Be Ready” zone remains south of the Morrow-Umatilla County line, from Constant Road in the east to approximately Elder Flat in the west.

On the Falls Fire, the Level 2 evacuation zone that is north of Scotty Creek Lane, west of Highway 395 to Forest Service Road 24 has been downgraded to Level 1 “Be Ready” advisory.
